Style Tour - Topanga Mall
Last weekend was pretty interesting. While shopping in the mall I noticed that they were having this style tour. This event was such that the mall shoppers could see the new trends and see how those trends would fit into your lifestyle. There were makeup artist to teach you the best look, there were hairstylist and wardrobe stylist. It was quite interesting.
My daughter is very much into wardrobe styling so I of course I went through the line and talk to the various stylist that were there. Yes I did take the profile, but I already knew that my style is what is called Classic/Sophisticate. I do want to add a little flair to that classic style and I am working on it for sure.
The stylist that manned the Classic/Sophisticate cubicle was celebrity stylist Nicole Chavez, she is a regular in InStyle Magazine and she was a pleasure. Of course I told her about my daughter and she gave me some information for my daughter to get started out here in Los Angeles. I couldn't wait to tell my daughter about this event. So I decided to go back on Sunday and photography some of it so she can see how it was all setup.
Many women were participating in the event. It appeared as though there were more involved with makeup and hair than wardrobe, but everyone looked like they were having a great time. Since I have been involved in hair and makeup events, mostly as a makeup artist, I know how much fun it is to help women find what makes them look and most importantly feel beautiful.
While living in Florida I became a makeup artist, then an esthetician, and then a hair stylist. What really motivated me is how good it felt when you were able to help a woman feel good about herself. I know that when a woman feels good about her physical appearance she start to feel good on the inside, and it is immediate, and that is when you see her do great things with her life. Sometimes that maybe getting out of an abusive relationship , getting through a divorce, or the lost of a job. Sometimes just a new lipstick color and conversation is all it takes to bring a smile and then a bright spot, and these women seem to have renewed power. That is wonderful to see.
I love this picture of this woman standing in the center, just seem to be taking it all in. It reminds me of myself, when I would just stand by and watch others participate in events like this, actually, watching them participate in life.
Now I am one to chime in and participate.
You always walk away with something wonderful.
