No New Pics but an Art Class

I am excited about embarking on yet another one of my dreams and that is to take some one on one art classes. I started drawing and painting at about the same time I started photography, in high school with Sister Jack. I have had more formal training in drawing than I have had in photography but have only painted on and off. Last Tuesday I started it again with an older gentleman from Iran who has a studio on Ventura Blvd, in Encino, California. I wanted to start with sketching because I want to train my eye to see all of the tones that make something one dimensional into something three dimensional. This ability to see all the tones in a subject will also help me in photography, and definitely in becoming a good painter.
I have always been fascinated by the visual arts and have done some pretty decent things in the past. Taking this class made me realize just how much I don't know. So I am really excited about learning.
Now that the weather is getting a little better here in Southern California and not in the triple digits, I will get back out and take some pictures and work on some ideas that I have been pondering. Continuing to improve on those skills.
